Advertising Policy
O-line Sports accepts advertising and sponsorship for its Web site, partner websites and e-mail service according to the following principles:
Advertising is separate from content. Advertisers and sponsors have no advance knowledge of our editorial content, nor do the editors shape content to accommodate advertising. O-Line Sports will not sell advertising for a specific product on the condition that it appear in the same location and at the same time as a specific article mentioning that product. Advertisers and sponsors have no control over any of our editorial decisions or advertising policies. O-Line Sports advertising sales representatives have neither control over, nor prior knowledge of, specific editorial content before it is published.
O-Line Sports reserves the right to decline or cancel any advertisement at any time.
Users will be able to distinguish advertising and editorial content clearly on the O-Line Sports and parnters' web sites and e-mail service.
O-Line Sports does not endorse any company, product, or service appearing in its advertising.
Advertising must be factual and in good taste. Please note: when you click on an advertising banner or advertising link, you may be taken to a site different from O-Line Sports or its partners' to view additional information, and you may be asked for data at that site. O-Line Sports and its partners do not control such sites.
Advertorials are not accepted on O-Line Sports or its partners' web site or e-mail service.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products may not be advertised.
Advertised products must be compliant with the regulations in the country where the advertisement will be seen. Advertisements for pharmaceutical products (including NDA products) that are subject to U.S. Food and Drug Administration oversight must comply with FDA regulations regarding advertising and promotion.
Advertisers and sponsors have no control or influence over the results of searches a user may conduct on O-Line Sports or its partners' web site. Search results are based solely on the functionality available through our search software (e.g., keywords or natural language) and user-defined criteria (e.g., displaying most recent or most relevant items first).
Updates to our Internet advertising policy will be posted to the O-Line Sports Web site.
Types of Industries and Products
Generally acceptable for consideration:
School products; athletic-equipment products and services; apparel, FDA approved food and beverages; computer software and games; travel and entertainment.
Generally acceptable for consideration with certain conditions:
Educational software or books, vitamins and supplements; job search websites.
All types of advertising not described above will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Sponsorships:
Sponsorship and editorial content are clearly separated. A link to O-Line Sports Internet Advertising Policy will appear with all sponsorships in the O-Line Sports and partners' e-mail service. Acknowledgment of support will not make any claims for any supporting company's product(s). The final wording and position of the acknowledgments will be determined by O-Line Sports.
O-Line Sports Internet Advertising Policy and Users' Personal Information: O-Line Sports does not release personally identifiable data on users of our Web site or e-mail service to advertisers. See also O-Line Sports Internet privacy statement. Advertisers on O-Line Sports Web site may receive reports that provide aggregated data about the response to their advertisements. Such data may include:
The number of impressions (the number of times the advertisement has been viewed on the O-Line Sports Web site);
The number and/or percentage of impressions that accounted for a click-through to a different site (click-through rate).
